Does your internal monologue ever have debates about what you believe? Processing questions like: If I trust Jesus, why do I still feel weary? If Jesus is the light of the world, why do things feel so dark? If God holds all things in His hands, why do I feel like I’m the one holding everything together?
Join us April 4th-6th as we bring our questions into the light and find hope until His return.
LOCATION:
The John Newcomb property has multiple properties on Mission Valley Road. Our retreat entrance, Newcomb Ranch, is located between the tennis academy and the country club. Use THIS LINK for precise navigation. (Searching for Newcombe Tennis Ranch on Google and iMaps may lead you to an alternate property.)
WHAT TO BRING:
- Casual clothing, including layers and comfortable shoes
- A sweater or jacket for air-conditioned rooms and cool nights
- Bible, journal and pen
- Umbrella, just in case
- Any extra snacks you’d like to have or share (meals & snacks are provided)
- Active clothing if you opt to do the ropes course, play tennis, swim or exercise during free time (we also suggest bringing sturdy shoes for the easy hike)
- Flashlight (your phone flashlight may be sufficient; the property gets dark at night)
- Provided at the retreat center: bedding, towels & tennis equipment
ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN:
Please find us in the Sydney Suite for check-in. The Sydney Suite is a small stone building on your right when driving onto the Newks property. Find available parking and join us there.
Check-in is from 4:30 - 6:00 pm on Friday. We will enjoy hors d'oeuvres from 5:00 - 6:25 pm, and our first session begins at 6:30 pm. If you would like a more substantial meal before we begin, please grab something on the way.
*We strongly encourage you to arrive at check-in before 6:00pm to allow time to familiarize yourself with the retreat venue while it is still daylight. Otherwise, late check-in will be available at the front of the conference room after the first session, at approximately 8:20pm.
When you arrive at your room after checking in, your bed will be designated. Please do not move those designations, as we've sought to accommodate each woman's needs and preferences to the best of our ability.
SATURDAY FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
We have free time scheduled from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Saturday. You are welcome to spend the time however you desire: take a nap, play some tennis, go for a walk or swim, head out for some shopping, prayer & journaling, or you may participate in our scheduled activities.
CONCLUSION
We will wrap up at noon on Sunday. Please be packed up before attending the Sunday morning session. Keys may be returned to the front desk at The Lodge.
